Ebru Uygun


Turkish artist Ebru Uygun , born in Istambul in 1974, develops  a complex way of  handling the medium of painting. 
She paints in a way of action painting, then deconstructing her work , by tearing the  canvas into strips, , she  starts  a new sequence by collaging these strips onto a new canvas. The process of fragmentation and synthesis gives rise to abstract constellations , reminiscent of arabic calligraphy .
Ebru Uygun has been exhibited in and collected by several turkish and european museums, among which a solo exhibition at Museum Haus Konstruktiv in Zurich, Switzerland .
